"The most fun you can have on a barstool without a hangover in the
morning."

The Barstool Racer was conceived in November of 2003.  Watching a
Horsepower TV, I happen to see my first barstool racer and from there
on I knew I had to build one.  Shortly after I set forth to design and
build my barstool racer.  Which happens to be one of the few that I
know of with a center differential to allow it turn much better than with
a solid rear axle. The Racer is powered by a Tecumseh Enduro OHV
5hp motor, with a straight pipe exhaust, and a performance cam.  The
motor makes great power and accelerates the barstool nearly as fast
as I would want to go sitting 3 feet in the air on a stool.  I built the
racer from the ground up including the frame, steering components,
wheelie bar, and spoiler.
Building a barstool racer can be both challenging
and fun, plus when your all done you have a fun
toy.  The barstool racer currently serves as a
unique method of transportation around the
neighborhood* and occasionally serves as a pit
vehicle for the University of Akron's Formula SAE
team.  If you would like parts, advice, or require
some custom fabrication on your own barstool
racer please contact me.  I am more than willing
to help fellow barstool racers...
Of course any custom fabrication (frames, motor mounts, wheelie
bars, spoilers, anything else your looking for..) will come at a
reasonable rate, email me with your needs, or perhaps a drawing of
what your looking for and I will email you back with a quote.  Please
look at the rest of the pictures of the specific details of the racer and
enjoy.
